(Ironically even then, when they've pushed software, they suffered a hardware flaw.)

They are definitely exiting the console hardware business the way they see fit.

But ultimately, Microsoft/Xbox are still going to try to push Sony Playstation out of business. I can already feel the next bitch move incoming.

I have lost count of how many Xbox funerals I've attended over the decades.

Yet the Xbox keeps spawning new hardware somehow.

She made some fair points, but missed others. At Microsoft, “openness” means a multi-store ecosystem—not embracing open-source like Linux. And I’ve said it before: without exclusives, why buy a new Xbox? Other consoles offer stronger exclusives, and you can still play Xbox games elsewhere. Add in layoff rumors and the shift toward cheaper hardware via partners like ASUS, and it feels like Xbox is drifting from its first-party identity. As someone who’s invested in this ecosystem for over two decades, it’s honestly disheartening to watch.

I knew the Activision deal was going to cause ripples. I figured they would go third party publishing through Activision given the cost of the purchase. Like, it would take decades to make up the difference. According to Tweaktown, Xbox profits last quarter was only $790 million off $6.5 billion in revenue. That's roughly 11 cents profits for every dollar earned. I think the cuts coming this week or next week will seek to push profits up to 15 cents for every dollar earned. If Xbox gets up to $3.2 billion in profits per year, it will take about 20 years to pay for the Activision purchase. Xbox as we know it is gone. The whole Xbox everywhere advertisement was done to soften the blow.

With that said, Xbox everywhere is a joke. Xbox Cloud painfully slow, blurry, and artifact heavy. I've tried it on my TV using the Xbox app, on my Xbox 1X, and my Xbox Series X. All suffers extreme lag, macro blocking artifacts, and they were all blurry. Like, try Ninja Gaiden 2 Black on X Cloud. Wow, it couldn't keep up, and that game you need quick twitch response time. Indiana Jones was ok, slower game, but it was extremely blurry. I tried another random game I don't recall, and the lag made it unplayable. It felt like dial up lag from the 1990s. Unless they improve performance, Xbox everywhere is going nowhere. Maybe non gamers are ok with that level of performance? I certainly did not find Xbox Cloud performance acceptable and don't recommend it.

The writing was on the walls the 360 was Microsofts hay day. After the 360 things started to go down hill after the XB1 things really went down hill for Microsoft. Two major purchases, jacking up the price of an Xbox, Xbox not appearing on store shelves for months in some areas, being dead last in sales, Microsoft shutting down studios. Hopefully that Asus Xbox does well I am thinking about one. But if it fails I see Microsoft going the route Sega chose just skip the hardware and focus more on the software side. Use Xbox as a studio brand with Xbox studios appearing on games cases like Sony using Playstation studios on game cases when they port games to other machines.

This is what happens when you don’t clean house. We’ve had the same stooges running Xbox for ages.

Honestly if Microsoft didn’t release the Xbox, PlayStation wouldn’t be as good as it is now. Xbox Live changed the way we played.. especially during the 360 era. Things evolved for the better overtime but that was the golden standard. Apart from that, the original Xbox came out with some nice things.. You could play and download your music to the Xbox and listen to it while driving around in GTA Vice City.. that was pretty cool.
Of course I remember Friday nights with friends playing Halo2 with 4+ Xbox’s connected together..
Had a good library of games.. Morrowind, KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mech Assault and Panzer Dragon just to name a few that didn’t release on PS2..

So for Microsoft to come in like that and begin to become less and less innovative over the years to play things safe is a letdown, and that was the beginning of their downfall.
Toward the end of the 360 era they begin to focus more on being mainstream and less concerned about their core gamers.
From then I don’t know one thing that Microsoft brought to the table that was different from PlayStation. Just a lot of copy and paste.

It’s really sad. There was plenty of room for MS to succeed but they wanted to ruin it all so they could take over instead of making the console space better.

Xbox is the best console because Microsoft is dedicated to putting the best games out there on it. God of War is stupid. Ares is the god of war according to Greek mythology and Sparta became a state of the Greek nation as part of the Achaean League, meaning Sparta literally was Greece. In Japan there is strong censorship culture from the government and I felt it when I lived there for six months. Here in America, there is much less censorship than many other places on earth and that virtue shines through on the glorious Xbox and how you can get a lot of wild games on this thing. The indie community on the Xbox 360 along with the Xbox One and Xbox series X thrives. Props to Microsoft and the Xbox for putting some gnarly games in gamers’ hands like Psychonauts 2 which would not have even had any boss battles at all according to the developer had Microsoft not bought out the company and funded its development.

One way Xbox can mop the floor with other competitors is by actually embracing Americanism. That of course means abiding by written law and the first amendment of free speech and also telling stupid women to knock it off with this “toxic masculinity” bologna. I have been with several women and they all have stinky issues all throughout their body, especially down under (yeast infections) meaning they have tons of toxicological problems in their blood just like men do. Females can knock it the frick off with the toxic masculinity nonsense because it is completely preposterous. Xbox needs to bring back proximity chat during multiplayer games so that men can actually talk to each other and smack talk like proper, healthy, expressive men are supposed to instead of the egregious censorship culture of having oppositional teams muted during gameplay. Xbox can be the masculine console where men can actually express themselves instead of having to play with duct tape over their mouths figuratively speaking.

And then, of course, there is a Nintendo. I remember learning about how Nintendo literally makes players whip out their cell phone just to do online voice chat with the switch and I was not surprised at all because Japan is drunk on censorship -those feminized fools with their soy laden diet. I am proud that President Trump dropped an F bomb recently regarding the situation with Iran and Israel, because healthy men express themselves and don’t bite their tongues when strong language must be parsed.
