The trailer for the film says hard no for me. 'F1 is a team sport!'. Ugh. Then goes on to glorify two unlikeable narcissists.
Despite being a big fan of Gran Turismo the game, I couldn't make it past about 15 minutes of the movie. It was cringe.
You may want to give the Gran Turismo movie a second chance. I agree that it starts very bad.
Luckily, as soon as the creators fulfilled the “marketing bullshit quota” in the first 20-30 minutes ;-), it gets much better.
