Originally North American exclusives, Twisted Metal III and 4 will soon be playable on PS5 and PS4 via the Classics Catalogue.
Alex S. from Link-Cable writes: "Welcome to part two of our look at the best games ever to grace the original PlayStation (#20-11 can be found here). Like I said last week, the PlayStation was a system that served as a defining moment in gaming for many of us, finally beginning the change in perception as games being something that could only appeal to nerds and children and into the mainstream as a medium that could rival TV, novels and movies in terms of narrative scope and cinematic qualities. This was the system that games ‘grew up’ on and helped build the industry into the $100 billion dollar juggernaut it is today and this level of maturity (in all senses of the word) could be considered the defining trait of our picks for the 10 games that best represent the console."
PS1 had a massive library.

Hey Poor Player's Francis DiPersio writes - "PlayStation VR is set to release this holiday season, opening the door to new gameplay possibilities on Sony’s current-gen console. Slated for a release this October, the $400 headset will be home to a wide variety of titles, including Namco’s stomach-churning Ace Combat 7, the trigger-happy shooter The London Heist and the sublimely surreal Rez Infinite, just to name a few. While all of these games and the rest of the PS VR certainly has us excited, there are more than a few franchises we’d love to see take advantage of the benefits of Sony’s immersive new hardware.
Here are five franchises from PlayStation’s past that we want to see make their way to PlayStation VR."
I would really like to see a GOOD twisted metal, but I'm not sure that's something Jaffe is capable of or even willing to do.
Give me Wipeout. Playing zone in vr would me something else. And when I say Wipeout, I mean Sony's.
VP Writes: In my high school days I spent more hours in a friend’s basement listening to Metallica and death-battling in Twisted Metal 2 than I care to remember. The title was my gaming life for a while, so needless to say, I was a little excited when the new one was released. Fittingly, the next installment in the vehicular combat series featuring the demonic tournament released on October 31st, Halloween of 1998 with much anticipation. What I didn’t realize when I purchased Twisted Metal III though, was that it was the first game in the series not by SingleTrac, but by a new developer, 989 Studios, and was going to cause a lot of mixed emotions, not just then, but now as well.
Twisted Metal 1 and Black are my favorites, 2 was the 3rd best to me. I enjoyed 3 and 4 also. TM 3 and 4 were fun and had better music than the first 2.TM PS3 was fun but i disliked the racing parts.
A lot of people hate on 3 but it was good. Not as good as 1/2 but it was decent.
Twisted metal 3 and 4 are unrated, not as good as the first two but still good
the 4 player split screen is awesome, used to play it on my PSX all the time
