VGChartz's Evan Norris: "After 25 long years, Never 7 - The End of Infinity finally has an international release, thanks to this remaster from Mages and Spike Chunsoft. While this version isn't perfect — it carries over the original's limited interactivity and introduces some new localization issues — it remains required playing for visual novel aficionados, due to its mysterious storyline, heady science-fiction ideas, lovable characters, huge replay value, extraordinary voiceover work, and evocative music. Even those lukewarm on the genre should give it a try."
Michael Kitchin writes, "For a game sold old, it doesn't stand out against the contemporaries of the genre. Granted, visual novels tend to stay in their lane. Never 7: The End of Infinity proposes an interesting premise and manages to deliver a story that is engaging whilst managing to juggle the teen tribulations with genuine peril. I think the sci-fi element does help quicken the game's pace and the new art assets, whilst simple, do provide a colourful backdrop."
A relic of visual novel history, Never 7 offers a glimpse into Uchikoshi’s early work with its time-loop mechanic and sci-fi undertones.
Dislike when there isn’t a PS version. I’ll hold out a while and see if that changes if not I’ll grab the Asian Switch version. It would even be better if we got North American versions, with subs is fine as I don’t listen to dub anyway (it’s generally awful)
