I dont get the point of the v, just cus the number 5? Seems silly and less smart design for hardware. For me personally and again personally i dont see why someone wants odd shape designs. Its a box that plays games, it should blend into your space and not be some art. Also makes manufacturing more expensive. This is why i loved the ps1,ps2 deisgns, simple and smart. Xbox makes great designs now since the S model.

I think the PS2 was the best design Sony had. PS5 should be inspired by that. I think the Pro was very ugly so hopefully it doesn’t look like that model.

This is sad. Dev kits don't look like the actual console and we already got people attacking others for saying the dev kit looks ugly. Why defend the looks of a prototype? Sad fanboys lol.

Looks kinda dumb, but I say that about every Playstation console at first, then I warm up to it. With that said, this is a dev kit, and not necessarily a representation of the consumer console we'll eventually see.

The X1X is by far the best looking current gen system on the market. It is also whisper quite. The OG Xbox One was hideous! The OG PS4 looked better than Xbox One, but it is LOUD!

If the final design for some reason turns out to be close to the dev kit, that's okay as I will at most times will we watching the tv and not the system sitting underneath.

It won't look like this, but I think they're on to something with the front intake. Most people erroneously block the side and back vents, genius to have it blowing outward.

Look, we all know that dev kits are not indicative of the finished product, just look at the PS4 dev kit. My question is why isn't this like every other dev kit before which is just a box with connectors and flashing lights? Why is this shaped like that, if not for some reason? I just don't understand the purpose unless that shape is going to somehow come into play for the finished product.

Hell maybe you can put your controller in the middle and charge it or something. Right now it's a real head scratcher.

I guess you prefer a tightly enclosed box, that turns your console into an oven like the Xbox360....people already complain the PS4 Pro fan sounds like a jet engine. So what do you think happens when you create an even more powerful console?? It's going to create even more heat, and needs more ventilation.

It's ugly because it's a dev kit & most dev kits are big/bulky & not that pleasant on the eyes. The final console will be much slimmer & better looking.

This a DEV KIT people, the big gap is for cooling when they are stacked most likely....this is not the final console design that will be on your shelves....

Hopefully the PS5 and Scarlett consoles are closer to the devkit models performance levels.

Sometimes... The same companies release the pictures as "leak" to get feedback on one of the features, so, maybe they just need some honest feedback.

Honestly, doesn't it worry anyone that a dev kit is out already? That means the system is basically finished. By the end of next year there could be much better processors, graphic chips, power management, etc. which means sony was working on building this last year, so that is even older hardware being used, by the time the actual consumer version comes out it will have three year old parts in it.
