Even if your Nintendo Switch Online service lapses, you can still recover cloud saves for a certain amount of time if you resubscribe.

Nintendo is so damn stupid when it comes to communicating with customers. It's been a week since launch and people still have no real idea what NSO offers.
wow, so it's exactly the same as Sony. Imagine the outrage when people overreacted at Nintendo who never even gave a time period to begin with. They just assumed that if you let it lapse Nintendo would immediately delete your saves.
Nintendo and Sony need to changes to this .__.
As far as I'm concerned, the ONLY time this matters is if your Switch breaks while you are unsubscribed which would be extremely unlikely. Since you cannot access your saves while unsubscribed, is it really any different than what people were thinking would happen in the first place?
I wasn't aware you could trade items in Splatoon 2. I'm sure they are working on how to get cloud backup to work for splatoon 2, but it just was way more complicated then originally planned. People have way too many hours in that game.
This is why you don't jump to conclusions folks. No sooner did the service launch people said your saves were deleted the moment your subcription ends. I get it you don't like paying for online but don't lie in an effort to discredit it.
